WOW... what a crazy couple of weeks. I finished my Oracle class Friday. What a relief. The class moved extremely fast but nothing I learned was earth shattering. The hardest part for me was trying to pay attention for 3 1/2 hours.... I'm easily distracted. However, I am signed up for the second of 5 classes and I'm pretty excited about that. It will be a real miracle if my company pays for all 5...
Oh, funny little embarassing moment for me.... So it's been a few years since I've been to school and I'm a bit nervous. The class is downtown in one of the taller buildings that has an adjacent parking garage. So I park on the sixth floor and wait at the elevator. The doors open I get in. Now I knew the school was on the third floor of the main building so as soon as I get in, I push the 3rd floor button. The elevator is full and it zooms down to floor 3 and I get out, take a couple of steps and realize that I'm still in the parking garage. I turn around and the doors are shutting.... and I can see the people snickering at me because they realized my mistake. So, I push the 'down' button again and continue on my way. So I find my way over to the correct building and take the elevator up to the 3rd floor... I step out into the lobby where several of the people from the first elevator were standing. Fuckers started snickering again!!! So I punched one of them in the head... it suprised me how fast the bitch dropped! Just kidding! Anyway, that was the last night that I smoked pot before class... I figured that if I got lost going to class stoned I might have a problem keeping up!
Well, THE BLOOD CENTER has been very busy lately as I'm sure you can all imagine. The day of the attacks people started lining up... some for hours. What was sad was there were people that waited for hours to donate only to find out that they were deferred for one reason or another. All in all, I think we did pretty good. I think we took in several thousand pints of blood in just a couple of days.
Nothing really to say about the mess that happened 9-11.....
Better get back to work....

YIKES! Can't believe all the shit that's going on here.... Everyone here is glued to a tv in our conference room watching the devastation unfold. I think I'm in a state of disbelief.... I guess the situation would change dramatically if a 7-fucking-47 came crashing in on my building here. People all over the city are already calling asking how they can give blood for the victims in New York and Washington. Our CEO was at the airport on his way to New York for a meeting about the blood shortage there when our airport got locked down. Well, not a whole lot you can say about this right now except (BEN, close your ears!!!!) God bless.
Imagine the celebration that is taking place right now for those that are responsible for this....

Thanks Ben for allowing me to post to the site. I'm not quite as creative or witty as some of the other folks here but I'll do my best to keep up. My spelling is terrible so please go easy on me! I'm sure I'll find the spellcheck button on this, but until I do........
I'm on my way to give a mini-class on how to use our email system.... it just kills me that in this day and age people still don't get "LEFT CLICK" on a mouse. Maybe it's because I've been doing this for some time now, but surely at some point, on TV, in a movie, reading a magazine, something, they would have come across this term. All I can say is it is job security for me! I better stop ragging because I'm getting myself worked up and I don't want to go in there with a bad attitude. Well wish me luck!

AAAHHHHH..... feeling much better now. Hangovers are amazing.
New and exciting.... I am starting my Oracle classes tonight at the University of New Orleans downtown center! I'm very excited. The class in M-F 6:00pm-9:30 pm for the next two weeks. So I'm getting a semesters worth of information in 10 sweet days. The beauty of this is that my company is paying for it. My boss told me that if I felt the class was beneficial they would pay for the next in 4 in the series.... I can tell you know, they will be A MUST! Hopefully they will keep true to their word and hook me up. I am also trying to get myself enrolled as a regular student for the spring... we'll see how that goes since I still owe my last college $350.... I guess I have to be a grown up and pay for the mistakes I made years ago.... DAMN IT! I need only 2 classes to finish my degree in mathematics. So what's a couple hundred bucks anyway for a rich guy like me (ha ha ha) to finish my degree? Oh, to be a student again!
Well, off to class..... YEA!
